Health ratings are genetic traits that are critical for a horse's long-term value, affecting lifespan and breeding success. They dictate how prone a horse is to future illness, though most disease effects are not yet implemented in the game. Stable Tracker tracks these 6 crucial metrics.
All health stats are hidden upon a foal's birth. To reveal them:
Fertility is the only stat that currently has a tangible effect on gameplay.
Health ratings (Excellent, Very Good, Good, Average, Poor) are inherited semi-randomly, but tend to regress towards the average of the sire and dam.
The best strategy is to ensure both parents have "Very Good" or "Excellent" ratings across all 6 stats. You can use a high-rated stallion to offset a specific weakness in your mare (e.g., breeding a mare with Average Colic Resistance to a stallion with Excellent Colic Resistance).
Long-Term Value Tip: Horses with excellent health ratings sell for a premium 💎 and require less maintenance, making them essential for a profitable and high-performing stable.
